inspiring] story has been told worldwide on her own feast day, we can see the legacy of St. Brigid in action,” O'Gorman said.

So here's my take: It's fascinating how cultures evolve and adapt over time - even something as simple as a national holiday! It looks like St. Brigid's Day has certainly been through some changes since its inception. While it's great to see the celebration of growth, renewal and light, I can't help but wonder if we lose something important when we distance ourselves from religious traditions that formed these holidays in the first place. We should always remember the rich history behind them, and strive to honor their original intentions as well. As Father Owen O'Gorman said, "the onus is then on the Church to enable people to connect with the real St. Patrick rather than the plastic St. Patrick." I think this applies to all our religious feast days - let's keep that in mind!

And hey, if you want to learn more about Ireland's patron saint and her incredible legacy, be sure to check out the story of Sister Clare Crockett. It's a powerful reminder of how one person can make a lasting impact on their community and beyond. https://www.catholicnewsag...
